Streaming Networks offers a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) reference design for security and surveillance applications. The design is targeted for standalone as well as PC plug-in systems.The DVR application uses state of the art MPEG-4 video compression/decompression and voice grade G.723.1 audio compression/decompression technologies. The bit rate ranges from 64 Kbps to 2 Mbps. The frame rate can vary from 1 fps to 30 fps and the resolution could be up to VGA. Audio/video synchronization over entire range of player operations and frame-rates (1-30 fps) is guaranteed. Motion detection feature permits tracking or masking of unlimited zones within a screen with varying degree of sensitivity. Pre & Post event recording allows you to watch what happened just before and after the event that triggered the recording.

For a standalone system, Streaming Networks, DVR-1302 board with IDE, Ethernet, USB, UART, I2C interfaces and Flash is used. The board is populated with the latest version of the TriMedia, PNX1302 processor.
