Audio
codecs for the
TriMedia
platform
|
Streaming
Networks offers a set of
audio codecs for the
TriMedia platform. These
codecs are optimized
implementations of ITU-T
recommendations. These codec
libraries are available with
the TriMedia streaming
interface (TSSA).
G.711
Standard codec for telephony
applications. Implements A/mu-law
companding.
G.722
Sub-band ADPCM for wide-band
(7-KHz) speech or audio.
Compression achieved by
frequency-domain splitting
of the audio signal in low
and high bands with the QMF
filters, and applying
adaptive PCM to each band.
G.723.1
Belongs to the
state-of-the-art ABS speech
codecs based on variations
of CELP, with LPC and
pitch-prediction. Dual rate.
G.728
Belongs to the
state-of-the-art ABS speech
codecs based on variations
of CELP. Features a
backward-adaptive version of
CELP to achieve low delay.
G.729A
Belongs to the
state-of-the-art ABS speech
codecs based on variations
of CELP, with LPC and
pitch-prediction. The G.729A
is interoperable with its
higher-complexity version,
the G.729.
