This ISO compliant MPEG2 video encoder/decoder library is targeted for embedded systems, requiring a low memory footprint, and is optimized for the most efficient use of the TriMedia VLIW processor. The encoder uses state of the art motion estimation algorithms, adaptive rate controller, and supports constant and variable bit rates. For variable bit rates, (VBR) you can specify both average and peak bit rates and the encoder will adjust the quantizer automatically.

Well-documented, easy to use application programming interface allows developers to control the behavior of the video encoder. The sample application provides functionality necessary to capture video, encode/decode it and display on a video screen.
